7 Steps to Achieving What You Want in Life

You deserve the best life has to offer.

Even the happiest people I know have one or two areas they would like to improve in their lives. Health, relationships, business, balance… There is always something. Here is the actual process I use in my Life Coaching practice to help my clients get the most out of their lives.

  1.  Action.
The most important action you can take is to decide that there is something you need to change and commit to making a plan. What is missing from your life or keeping you from complete happiness? Decide what it is.
  2. Create a plan.
Begin with where you are now and the outcomes you want to achieve. It is not enough to have your plan in your head; you need to write out your plan.
  3. Accept that you are human.
Part of being human is the collection of memories we store in our minds that drive our behavior without us even knowing it. It is time to cancel the negative thoughts that are preventing you from being able to achieve your goals and start thinking positive.
  4. Pay attention to your energy level.
Any plan to increase success and happiness should include balancing your mental, emotional, and physical condition. And getting into good condition requires adequate rest, nutrition, and exercise in addition to staying away from things, places, and people who affect you negatively.
  5.  Identify the affirmations
and other language you will use to optimally reprogram your brain during visualization exercise.
  6. Visualize your outcomes.
By closing your eyes and creating a movie in your mind about exactly where you want to be. Do this every morning before starting your day and again in the evening before you go to sleep.
  7. Evaluate your progress.
Evaluation is a critical component to any plan as it provides benchmarks and other opportunities to determine whether what you are doing is working. Decide in advance what progress looks and feels like, and build various progress points into your plan.

Achievements rarely come by accident. They are the product of knowing where you want to go, making a plan for getting there, and working that plan. They are also the products of individuals who are mentally prepared for and positioned for their success.
